My Nightmare....

This thing has taken up almost all of my these past few weeks. I swear this thing is the biggest pain in the ass, but I'm still rather proud of it..

My 3D design project was to take a random object and enlarge it, proportionally, into something that was relatively 5 feet tall/long. I chose to do an old Kodak film reel that I found in my junk drawer.

Kodak 2
Yep, that's me, aren't I funny looking?

Kodak 3
Length comparison with the original film reel sitting on the top.

Kodak 4
Closer comparison with the original film reel, so tiny!

This thing NEVER would have gotten finished if it hadn't been for my grandpa. He was such a huge help, and so were his power tools. All that cardboard(yes, the whole this is made out of cardboard, and it's solid) was a big task to glue and cut, and we had to do it by hand because his band saw broke (it wasn't me XD) He has advised me to never use cardboard again...and I AGREE! I sent him these pictures as soon as I was done putting it together, and I guess he sent them out to all of the relatives too, since I've since received a few emails from them complimenting my on my achievement. I guess he's proud of it ^__^

Big thanks to my boyfriend too for helping me get the paint. He works in Home Depot's paint department, so it was very convenient.

That label had me so worried. I was originally going to paint it on by hand, but I ran out of time. This ended up getting turned in late, so I couldn't take anymore time on it, so I ended up scanning the label into my computer, taking the image down to Kinko's and they printed it out nice and big like that. I was so relieved.

I turned it in last night and received lots of compliments form my classmates, and I finally had a full, restful night's sleep for the time in weeks. I'm so glad this thing is done, now my only predicament is figuring out what to do with it after it's graded...
